The SES Council is offering CPR & AED and Emergency First Aid courses again this year. Stonecrest students, staff, and members of the wider community are invited to participate on Saturday, October 20th.
Choose from two options:
CPR & AED – Saturday, October 20th – 8:30 am to 12:30 pm – $35
This course covers Airway/Breathing/Circulation, CPR/AED (Adults & Children), Choking, Heart Attack, Stroke, Communicable Diseases, the Law, and Emergency Scenarios. Certification for one year.
Emergency First Aid – Saturday, October 20th – 8:30 am to 12:30 pm + 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm – $80
In addition to the above, this course covers Shock, Wounds & Bleeding, Musculoskeletal Emergencies, Head & Spinal Emergencies, Burns, Respiratory Emergencies, Anaphylaxis, Seizures, Diabetic Emergencies, Environment, Poisoning, and Triage. Certification for three years.
The option to recertify Standard First Aid is also available.
Both courses take place at Stonecrest. Choose to attend only the morning or the whole day. For those staying for the day, a lunch break will take place after the CPR & AED course, so please bring your own lunch. We encourage a nut-free lunch in case of any potential food allergies. The cost is $35 for the morning or $80 for the day (plus $1.20 online payment fee). The Council has provided funding to subsidize the cost of these courses; the CPR & AED course normally costs $50 and the Emergency First Aid Course normally costs $100.
To register, do the following:
1 – Go to to the Stonecrest Council Hot Lunch website ( http://www.stonecresthotlunch.ca ).
2 – If you have an account already, login; if you don’t have an account, register for one. You will be asked to provide your name, phone number, email address, and a password.
3 – Once you are logged in to the site, select “Students” at the bottom of the page.
4a – If you are the first person in your family to register, you will be immediately prompted to enter your first name and last name.
4b- If other members of your family are already in the system, you must select “Add New” in order to enter your name (first and last).
5 – Leave the Grade blank, select “Mrs Cindy Alce – Class: 99 – Staff Only Courses” from the drop-down Class list, and then click “Insert”.
6 – You will see the CPR & AED Course (morning only) and the Emergency First Aid Course (morning and afternoon) listed. You can choose ONE of these courses and proceed to register and pay by clicking “Order”.
