The SES Council is offering CPR & AED and Emergency First Aid courses again this year. Stonecrest students, staff, and members of the wider community are invited to participate on Saturday, October 26th.
Choose from two options:
CPR & AED – Saturday, October 26th – 8:30 am to 12:30 pm – $35
This course covers Airway/Breathing/Circulation, CPR/AED (Adults & Children), Choking, Heart Attack, Stroke, Communicable Diseases, the Law, and Emergency Scenarios. Certification for one year.
Emergency First Aid – Saturday, October 26th – 8:30 am to 12:30 pm + 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm – $80
In addition to the above, this course covers Shock, Wounds & Bleeding, Musculoskeletal Emergencies, Head & Spinal Emergencies, Burns, Respiratory Emergencies, Anaphylaxis, Seizures, Diabetic Emergencies, Environment, Poisoning, and Triage. Certification for three years.
The option to recertify Standard First Aid is also available.
Both courses take place at Stonecrest. Choose to attend only the morning or the whole day. For those staying for the day, a lunch break will take place after the CPR & AED course, so please bring your own lunch. We encourage a nut-free lunch in case of any potential food allergies. The cost is $35 for the morning or $80 for the day (plus online payment fee). The Council has provided funding to subsidize the cost of these courses; the CPR & AED course normally costs $50 and the Emergency First Aid Course normally costs $100.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- Is the course just for Stonecrest families?
No, anyone can attend.
- What is the minimum age for attending the course?
Participants in this course have to be 16 years of age in order to be certified, but younger students are always welcome to attend in the company of an adult. There is no definite age limit; the instructor just suggests that the children be able to pay attention and participate productively. There is no charge for students under age 16 who attend the course with a paying adult.
- I need Standard First Aid for my work. Is this course suitable?
Standard First Aid certification is a 2-day course. The courses we are offering provide only CPR & AED certification (morning only) or Emergency First Aid (all day). That said, if you are already certified in Standard First Aid and need only to re-certify, this can be done during the all-day course. Register for Emergency First Aid and let us know that you need to re-certify Standard First Aid so that we can let the instructor know and she can make sure that the relevant material is covered.
- I need CPR & AED for HCP for my work. Is this course suitable?
Register for CPR & AED and let us know that you need the HCP version so that we can let the instructor know and she can make sure that the relevant material is covered.
